Its on unexpected find in North Conway, but Shalimar is an excellent example of Indian cuisine at reasonable prices. Since our family spends Christmas in North Conway every year, the fact that it is open on December 25th is a big plus for us!
Hi all, Ill tell you the last review could not be farther than the truth. I live in the area and dine at Shalimar every month or so. I have always found the family to be so sweet and friendly pleasantly responding with "thank you please". The naan is to die for and the homemade chai delicious as well as all the entrees. The dining room is a little weird with faux paint finish, but who cares when the people are nice and the food is great. Dont let the last review deceive you or you will be missing out. Ashley L. I live close to Conway and I LOVE this place, its hot.. and I love curry foods! curry is also great for your body and cleanse you from toxins.. I go there twice a week to eat with my bf and they are always so nice and genuine.. We always have a woman serve us and everything is so quiet and relaxing in there. We always end up bringing extra entrees with us home. I got my favorites and my bf got his. Love this place!!!! Second best places in north Conway is Muddy Moose and Maestro.
"Outstanding"
I love Indian food, and have been to countless Indian restaurants all over the US and England. This includes Chicago, LA, and Boston. My favorite Indian restaurants have been in England. However, the food at the Shalimar was the best Indian Ive ever found in the US. Hard to believe in a small place like North Conway but experience it for yourself.
""Wonderful food!!!"
My husband and I have enjoyed Indian food in England, MA and NH. This is by far the best we have had. We live almost 3 hours from here, but make a point of dining at the Shalimar whenever we are in the area. Three times in less than a year, and it has been an excellent experience each time!
"Wonderful, authentic Indian!!"
This place was so great, that we actually got take-out two nights in a row! The first night we had pakoras, chicken tikka masala and beef jalfrezi. The mild versions were just right and they came with rice. The second night we had chicken saag and chicken do-piazza. Both nights we had plain nan that was out of this world. My husband and I are huge Indian food fans and this is one of the better restaurants weve ever been to. Definitely give it a try!
